Cramming EFT Tapping Into Your Busy Life
Emotional Freedom Therapy, or EFT, works on the energy points or meridian system of your face and body. You tap these points with two fingers, applying the taps to the same energy points no matter what the problem is that you are addressing. Once you know how to apply the tapping, you can use it to free energy that has been trapped by negative emotions such as fear, anger or anxiety.
If you set aside 15 minutes every day to concentrate on EFT tapping, the particular negative emotion that you work on disappears and you find yourself relaxed yet energized. This can be done in a 15-minute chunk or in three 5-minute sessions.
With your busy life, you may feel you cannot fit one single thing more into your day. With a few simple steps, however, you can discover time to invest.
1. To locate time, you must learn exactly how you currently use your time. A good way to do this is to document everything you do in one day, from the time you get up until the time you go to bed. Write down starting time and ending time for every activity, and include the time you spend sitting idly at the computer, staring out the window or channel-surfing TV.
2. Review your documentation to determine whether a time slot exists in which your time would be better spent in EFT tapping.
3. If no time slot stands out for you, draw up a list of tasks and activities you plan to complete within the next week. Once you have finished the list, prioritize the tasks and activities to allow you to complete the most important ones, or the ones with specific deadlines, first. Chart these tasks and activities into a daily schedule broken down into half-hour segments.
4. Review your chart to find time slots in which taking a short break for EFT tapping will enhance your ability to complete the task. Schedule those breaks on the chart in front of you.
5. If you have difficulty starting and stopping tasks and activities at the scheduled times, set a timer or alarm clock to remind you.
6. Because tapping is both relaxing and energizing, you also can cram it into your busy life when you first awaken or just before going to bed for the night.
The positive energy you feel helps you perform better during the day. It also can help you rest better at night, free from anxiety.
You may need to adjust your daily schedule by getting up a few minutes earlier or going to sleep a few minutes later than normal, but the results make spending your time this way an excellent investment.
